Ingredients:
• 2 cups 4Sisters white rice, cooked
• 1 lb. dry red kidney beans
• 2 cups diced ham or smoked sausage
• 1 pkg. frozen seasoning blend
• 2 tbsp. minced garlic
• 3 beef bouillon cubes
• 12 cups water
• 3 bay leaves
• 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp. onion powder
• 1 tbsp. garlic powder
• 1 tbsp. paprika
• 2 tsp. Cavender’s seasoning
• 2 tsp. salt
• 2 tsp. black pepper
• 1 tbsp. olive oil
Directions:
• Cook 4Sisters Rice according to package instructions.
• Rinse & soak beans in water while performing next steps below.
• Sauté the ham or sausage in a large stock pot until browned, scraping up the good stuff as you go. Once meat is browned, add frozen seasoning blend, cooking until tender.
• Crumble the bouillon cubes & garlic into the meat & onion mixture.
• Drain the red beans from their soak & add to the meat & onion mixture.
• Add 12 cups of water, bay leaves & all other seasonings to the pot. Bring to a full rolling boil.
• Reduce heat to medium-low, partially cover & cook about 2 hours, stirring often. Add more water, as needed, until beans are tender.
• Remove bay leaves & serve over 4Sisters Rice.
